To try and boost the numbers, I purchased a hummingbird feeder last week, and hung it on the corner of our house. Nancy mumbled something about wanting it in the back yard, and I said, "I don't want to just feed the hummingbirds, I want to see them!"
I finished fidgeting with the placement of the feeder, and within seconds (literally, like 10 seconds) a hummingbird flew up to the feeder! I started uttering gibberish to get Nancy's attention, because I couldn't think fast enough for words.
The hummingbird flew off before I got Nancy's attention, but it returned seconds later with her watching. Neither of us could believe it!
A few minutes later, I went inside to wash my hands, and saw another hummingbird fly up to the feeder.
Jackpot!
